How a mobile tire call works

1. Call and give us the tire. Position (steer, drive, trailer, inside/outside dual), size off the sidewall, and whether the rim is damaged. A photo by text helps us bring the right tire the first time.
2. Get the truck somewhere safe. If it will roll, the next exit ramp or truck stop is safer for you and for our tech than the shoulder. If it won’t, stay in the cab with triangles out and we come to the shoulder.
3. We change it on site. Mount, inflate to spec, torque the lugs to the manufacturer pattern, and check the mate tire on a dual so you don’t have a second call an hour later.

A quality used tire with good remaining tread is a legitimate, DOT-legal way to get a loaded truck back on the road, and for a trailer position it is often the smart money. On a steer axle we will tell you to go new. We don’t publish tire prices online because they move with the market and the size — call and we quote the tire and the service call up front, before the truck rolls. No mystery fees.

Can someone replace a semi tire on the highway?

Yes. A mobile tire truck can change a steer, drive or trailer tire on the shoulder of I-26 or I-95. Get the truck as far off the travel lane as you can, set your triangles, and call. If the truck will roll on the flat at low speed, the next exit ramp or truck stop is a safer place to work.

Do you carry tires on the truck, or do you have to go get one?

We stock the common 22.5 and 24.5 sizes and can usually bring the tire with us on the first trip. Tell dispatch the size off the sidewall when you call. Odd sizes, specific brands or full sets may take a second trip or a scheduled yard visit.
